Zirui Xu was born in the Chinese city of Shenyang. His mother brought him to Los Angeles when he graduated from middle school. He had a great time at Covina High School and also joined the tennis team. He went to Mt. SAC Community College to study mathematics after graduating from high school. Then he transferred to UC Irvine, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Education Science. He came to Providence last year. After teaching at Brown Summer High School, he got an opportunity to teach math at Central Falls High School for one year. This has been a very valuable experience for him. As a returning student, he is looking forward to starting a new experience at Brown this year.
