Hi everyone! I'm Heejae Yang. My family immigrated to the US from South Korea when I was 6 years old. I grew up in Los Angeles, CA. I came to Providence in 2012 for undergrad at Brown, and I graduated in 2016 with a B.A. in Biology. I love the city of Providence and haven't left since 2012. It is such a beautiful, historic city with so many things to do and diverse people to meet. I decided I wanted to be a teacher after volunteering in various roles and after my last two jobs. I was an AmeriCorps Education Fellow and taught reading in small groups, as well as helped out in science classes. Then, for a year, I taught 8th-grade science as a long-term sub at Moses Brown. In my free time, I like to read, catch up with family, hang out with friends, try new places to eat, go on walks, and help out at church.
