Julia Mann is an English Language Arts educator in the Providence Public School district. Julia began her work in Providence as part of the 2020 Teach For America Rhode Island corps, and her work in Providence centers around family engagement and advocating for multilingual learners. Julia is currently working towards her Master’s in Education at Rhode Island College. She graduated with honors from James Madison University (JMU) in 2020, with a B.A. in Communication Studies and a minor in Spanish. During her time at JMU, she sought out a range of opportunities that inspired a passion for equity in education and working with youth, including teaching English with the Shenandoah Valley’s Migrant Education Program. While at Brown, Julia hopes to study the intersection of social services and educational program development. She looks forward to strengthening her practices as an educator and future policymaker to ensure all students strive for excellence in and outside of the classroom.
