My name is Kayla E. Marcello. I am from Rhode Island, and I never plan on leaving. My background is in biological chemistry with a bachelor’s of science from Rhode Island College. I worked in pharmaceutical chemistry for a couple of years, specifically in manufacturing and quality control. I left and found my way to becoming a substitute teacher and I have been a science long-term substitute for the past two years. I have been lucky enough to teach my own classes in Earth, Space and Physical Science, Biology and Anatomy as well as co-teach Chemistry classes. Substitute teaching has ignited a passion in education for me. After working with an amazing group of teachers for the past two years, they have inspired me and pushed me to continue my own education and work towards a career as a high school chemistry teacher.
