My name is Leila Dixon and I’m very excited to be starting the UEP Program at Brown University. I recently graduated from Boston University as an English education major with a sub-concentration in TESOL. During my time at BU, I held several student teaching positions including one at my former high school, Boston Latin School in Boston, MA, as well as an ELL position at Dearborn Academy in Roxbury, MA. In addition, I volunteered at 826 Boston, an after-school creative writing program, and the West End House in Brighton, MA where I taught young students reading skills.
My career goal is to work at a non-profit education reform organization, be part of education leadership within an urban public school system or continue my studies in education law.
In my free time, I like to read, watch NBA games, and go shopping.
