Hi! My name is Sheila Bautista, I am a first-generation college student from Providence. I recently graduated from URI with a B.A. in Political Science, and a B.S. in Human Development and Family Science. I consider myself an education advocate because I have a strong passion and desire to better the public education system, especially in urban areas. I believe education is a fundamental element and grants access to success. For students who come from impoverished areas, education is often our only way to move up the social strata. That is why I am so eager to learn and strategize innovative and strategic ways to be a change agent in the field of urban education.
