Biography

Hometown: Montreal, Quebec
Education: Mount Allison University, Bachelor of Commerce Honors in Economics, Class of 2023

Alexa (she/her) is a recent graduate of Mount Allison University where she completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Honors in Economics. Throughout her university career, Alexa devoted much of her time to the economics and commerce departments, serving as the Head Teaching Assistant for the economics department, president of the Economics Society, and coordinator for the Commerce/Economics Help Center, where she developed programming to respond to the emerging student needs in these departments.

Alexa’s passion for teaching and education stems back to her participation in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative, a program connecting high school students to local charities, where she selected to work with Tyndale St-Georges, a local community center with an after-school program for youth in Montreal. Her time at Tyndale sparked her curiosity about how socioeconomic factors influence educational opportunities and outcomes, and she hopes to explore this further through the UEP program.
