Anna Ryu (she/her) is a combined Bacc/MAT student in the science education cohort at Brown University, with a disciplinary focus in chemistry. She earned A.B. degrees in Education Studies and Chemistry as an undergraduate at Brown. During her four years as an undergrad, Anna worked with first and second grade students in the Providence Public School District through Inspiring Minds, and taught middle school students during the summers with Generation Teach Providence. These experiences deepened her interest in, appreciation of, and commitment to more equitable, culturally responsive, relationship-centered teaching in our public schools. Beyond the classroom, Anna enjoys making music with friends, attempting to create baked goods, and learning more about the power of organizing in labor and local community contexts. She hopes to stay in Providence to teach secondary science after completing the program.
