Baowei was born in a small city and has since called four different cities home — each move
sparked by his love for learning and teaching. Education gave him the wings to go beyond his
hometown, and eventually beyond China. He is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching with
a concentration in chemistry, hoping to inspire students just as his own teachers once inspired
him. Before coming to Brown, Baowei earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in China and
spent six memorable years teaching chemistry in Shanghai. When he’s not in the classroom,
Baowei finds joy in life’s simple moments: he enjoys cooking various cuisines, quietly sitting on
the steps watching his chunky cat hunt, and meeting new friends.
