Education: Bachelors of Education Studies at Morehouse College
DaQuan Brown (he/him) is a dedicated education major with a minor in communications at Morehouse College, where he has committed himself to service, advocacy, and the academic empowerment of underserved communities. With a passion for literacy, culturally responsive teaching, and education equity, DaQuan has engaged deeply in research, service, and policy work throughout his undergraduate career. A Leading Men Fellow and Bonner Scholar, DaQuan has completed over 1,600 hours of community service and received several honors, including the Ginny Looney Policy Leadership Award from the Southern Education Foundation. He has interned with Voices for Georgia’s Children, Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network, and The Literacy Lab, focusing on education policy, early childhood literacy, and summer learning. He also served as Vice President of the Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and Senior Class Coordinator for the Bonner Scholars Program. His work includes publishing a children’s book titled *Just Like You!* and producing three community-centered films. Looking ahead, DaQuan plans to teach in his hometown of Decatur, Georgia, before pursuing leadership roles in education administration. His ultimate goal is to become superintendent of DeKalb County Schools and lead sustainable policy reform that improves student outcomes across marginalized communities.
