Education: B.A. in Economics (Public Policy) and B.A. in Music from Brown University, Class of 2025

Derrick Pennix (he/him) is a graduate student at Brown University pursuing a master’s degree in Urban Education Policy. He received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics (public policy track) from Brown University, as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music. Derrick is a former Undergraduate Research Fellow of the Annenberg Institute, where he spent time developing his research skills under education and economics professor Dr. Matthew Kraft. Derrick aspires to one day have a hand in creating student-driven policies for the betterment of K-12 education in the state of Rhode Island. In his free time, he enjoys creating 2D animations and playing trumpet in the Brown University Jazz Band and other student bands across campus.
