Biography

Education: Albany State University, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Edward Carter is currently a graduate student in the Urban Education Policy Program. He completed his undergraduate degree at Albany State University with a B.S. in Nursing. Edward’s research and professional interests are grounded in the educational experiences of Black youth, particularly Black boyhood, trauma, and educational outcomes. He explores the interplay between sports and education, the effects of systemic inequalities, and the intersections of race, culture, and urban education policy. Before pursuing graduate school, Edward taught both high school and middle school Math, coached high school football for more than a decade, and has been an Army reservist since 2012. In his free time, Edward likes to spend time with his wife and three kids, Mckenzie, Edward, and Elijah.
