Biography

Gizzelle Fernandez is a Program Advisor with the Brown Collegiate Scholars Program at Brown University, where she works with high school students to build the academic, personal, and college knowledge skills needed to pursue higher education. Through advising, college access programming, and student development initiatives, she is passionate about helping students navigate systems that have not always been designed with them in mind and ensuring they have the support, information, and opportunities needed to reach their goals.

As a student in Brown's Urban Education Policy program, she is interested in how policy, practice, and community partnerships can work together to expand educational opportunity and improve outcomes for young people.
