Holly McCauley

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)

Biography

Hometown: Auburn, Georgia

Education: University of Southern California, BA English and MA Literary Editing and Publishing (2023)

Holly McCauley (she/her) recently completed her two year tenure as an English teaching assistant in Madrid. While she originally planned to go into educational publishing upon returning to the US, she found after just a few weeks in Spain that she couldn’t imagine herself leaving the classroom. She attended USC, where she was a member of the Thematic Option Honors Program and Undergraduate Student Government. In her spare time, she copyedits for a literary arts magazine that she shares with her previous graduate cohort. She has published creative nonfiction, prose poetry, and photography—both in magazines and anthologies—and has served on the editorial board of several Los Angeles-based publications. She loves people-watching, chicken-and-bean nachos, em-dashes, and the color yellow. Most of all, she finds joy in sharing her passions for language and literature with English learners.
