Ivan Perez (he/him) is originally from Austin, TX. He moved to Rhode Island in mid-2025, where he had his first introduction to educational work as an AmeriCorps member through City Year Rhode Island. Through the program, he garnered a deep sense of the post-pandemic school environment and saw firsthand that there is still a great deal of recovery to be done. Now, as a current Urban Education Policy Fellow, he hopes to become a piece of that puzzle—ensuring our nation's students receive a world-class education and are prepared with the skills to lead the future of this country.
