Julia Maguire (she/her) is pursuing a Masters in Arts of Teaching in secondary English. She is a recent graduate of Skidmore College with a B.S. in Education Studies and English Literature. At Skidmore, Julia completed two student teaching placements in local public elementary schools, one in a 1st grade classroom and the other in 5th grade. She also served as a teaching fellow for Breakthrough Collaborative Greater Boston teaching 9th grade English Language Arts, and substitute taught at her former middle school in North Andover, MA! Outside of the classroom, Julia enjoys cooking and baking, reading, and spending time outdoors. Julia has always wanted to be an English teacher, and she is very excited for the opportunity to learn alongside this MAT cohort. She looks forward to working in urban education, creating more meaningful connections within school communities, and fostering a love of learning!
