Financial Aid

We are committed to diversity and inclusion in teacher education — and the teaching profession — and don't want cost to be a barrier to entry. That's why Brown has significantly expanded its commitment to merit and need-based aid to MAT students. Students with demonstrated need are eligible for scholarships up to full tuition, living stipends, health fees, and insurance. We make need-blind admissions decisions and then award scholarships to admitted students based on merit and financial need. All applicants will automatically be considered for merit awards but to be considered for the full range of aid, we encourage applicants to submit the FAFSA or CSS as noted below before the application deadline.

Completing and submitting the government’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) allows us to determine your financial need and makes you eligible for federal aid.
The College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile is another tool we use to determine financial need. You can also include information about your family’s special financial circumstances.
