Yoko Yamamoto Co-Leads new Diversity Science Initiative

Visiting Assistant Professor in Education Yoko Yamamoto, co-leads a new initiative launched by the Society for the Study of Human Development.

With other researchers, Yoko Yamamoto, Visiting Assistant Professor in Education, launched a new Diversity Science Initiative at the Society for the Study of Human Development. The Diversity Science Initiative aims to provide new expansion and inclusiveness in intellectual inquiries by fostering an equitable and inclusive environment for all, providing a welcoming space that builds toward a comprehensive understanding of human development. "Diversity Science extends behavioral science to understudied populations including racial/ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, individuals with minority sexual orientations, immigrants, and diverse socio-economic classes. This research can both test the boundaries of current theory and make new discoveries in identifying unique relational processes relevant to the experiences of minorities." Professor Yamamoto and Dr. Deborah Johnson at Michigan State University are co-leading this initiative.
