Education Welcomes New MAT Director and Senior Lecturer, Katie Rieser

Brown University's Department of Education is pleased to welcome Katie Rieser, who has joined the faculty as Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching program and a Senior Lecturer in Education. Katie's research connects teacher education pedagogy with anti-racist best practices in K-12 schools.

Brown University's Department of Education is pleased to welcome Katie Rieser, who has joined the faculty as Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching program and a Senior Lecturer in Education. Before coming to Brown, she was a lecturer in English Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She spent the first decade of her career as a middle and high school teacher and dean of curriculum in Cambridge, MA. Her research connects teacher education pedagogy with anti-racist best practices in K-12 schools.

Katie received her A.B. in English from Harvard University and her Master’s in urban education policy from Brown. She is a Ph.D. student in the Teacher Education and School Improvement program at UMass Amherst.
