Department of Education

Our faculty and staff contribute to innovative research and provide students with unparalleled support.

Whether they’re teaching courses or conducting research, our faculty are focused on making a positive impact on society. Their rigorous courses prepare students to lead with impact in their chosen fields, and their cutting-edge research answers questions of educational quality, opportunity and inequality by examining education through the lens of public policy, economics, psychology, sociology, history and more.

Staff in the department are focused on supporting faculty and students to fulfill their research, teaching and learning goals. They provide crucial support for academic programs, faculty research and department programming to ensure a vibrant learning community.

Graduate Students

Our graduate students are preparing to become leaders, change agents, and educators confronting rising inequality in America's cities and fighting for equal opportunity and inclusion in schools.

Our graduates inspire learning and advance equity in urban schools across the country and locally in Providence. They pursue leadership opportunities in the classroom, the community, and beyond.
