Ayanna Tafe graduated from Brown University in 2023, with a degree in Comparative Literature with honors, with a focus on the translation of Latin and French literature. Prior to Brown, she matriculated through the Providence Public School system and is a proud graduate of Classical High School. While an undergraduate student, she was a teaching assistant in a Providence elementary bilingual classroom as a Bonner Community Fellow. During her senior year, she studied abroad at the Sorbonne in their Comparative Literature department.

She is passionate about teaching, language learning, and how the intersection of culture and language can be integrated into the classroom to create equitable spaces for students from varying socio-economic backgrounds. She hopes to use her language skills to become an English or a world language teacher.

Outside of academia, she enjoys playing the flute, drinking coffee, and making Pinterest boards. She is very excited to meet other MAT and UEP students!
