Education: Bates College, Interdisc: Policy, Education, Sociology. Class of 2020

Ellijah McLean is a native of Providence, Rhode Island where he currently serves as Program Officer of Education Policy at the United Way of Rhode Island. He attended Bates College where he studied policy, education, and sociology. He was recently admitted to Brown University where he will serve as one of the Urban Education Policy Fellows and continue to serve his hometown of Providence Rhode Island.

By trade, he is an educator who intends to provide and expand educational pathways for all through inclusive and comprehensive public policy. As a community organizer and policy advocate, he believes that upward social and economic mobility are most obtainable when comprehensive educational opportunities are provided to all.
