Education: State University of New York at New Paltz with a degree in Childhood and Early Childhood Education with an English concentration   

Alana Gerber (she/her) graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Her dual degree and teaching certification was awarded in Childhood and Early Childhood Education with an English concentration (B-6). 

She has spent the past year as Lead Teacher in an ages 3-5 Head Start program in Chicago, Illinois. Before that, she taught grades K-12 in rural Alaska, first as a student teacher and then as a long-term substitute. 

Alana looks forward to sharing her passion for literature with students during her time at Brown and after graduation! In her free time, you can find Alana baking, on a run, or camped out at the local library.
