Biography

Name: Andrea Natalia Camargo Lopez
Hometown: Bogota, Colombia
Education: University of Florida - BA, Theatre, 2014

Andrea Camargo Lopez, originally from Bogota, Colombia, graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in Theatre and a minor in Mass Communication in 2014. Since then, Andrea has worked as a theatre artist, head of marketing, translator, teacher, and learning assistant.

However, no other role has inspired her more than her experience in 2023 at her former school in Norway, UWC RCN. There, she served as a Summer Course Facilitator and Learning Assistant for three months, helping students from diverse backgrounds learn English and adapt to life among the Norwegian mountains and fjords. Supporting kids with various learning challenges and mental health difficulties reminded her of her passion for education. It reinforced her belief that it is the best tool to tackle the world's most serious problems now and in the future.

Andrea is very excited to move to Providence and start this new adventure. After graduating, she hopes to work full-time with underprivileged communities around the world and become the educator future generations need to achieve their full potential.

Outside of the classroom, Andrea enjoys running, reading, baking, and cooking for her family and friends.
