Biography

Hometown: Wuhan, China    
Education: B.S. degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Beijing Normal University, 2024   

Bingyu recently received her B.S. degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Beijing Normal University and is now a graduate student at Brown University, where she is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in secondary mathematics. As the best higher institution for cultivating future educators in China, Beijing Normal University has substantially shaped her career goal as a mathematics teacher. During her undergraduate studies, Bingyu participated in a study at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Beijing Normal University to investigate the evolving criteria for selecting teachers in China in the context of global standards. The aim was to provide insights for future teacher assessments and training. As project leader, she led the project from inception to completion.

During Bingyu's teaching internship in mathematics at Wuhan Hantie Senior Middle School, her responsibilities included grading assignments, delivering lessons, and adapting teaching strategies to various learning environments. She has been consistently committed to improving students' ability to creatively apply mathematical knowledge to solve real-world problems. She also wants to do her best to promote equity in mathematics education.

Outside of school, Bingyu has three cats and loves painting. She is looking forward to meeting a lot of new friends this year at Brown University!
