Erin Lippitt (she/her) is a member of the 2024-25 MAT Science cohort. She received her Bachelor of Science in astrophysics from Yale University in 2022, as well as a certificate in education studies. Upon graduating, Erin headed west to Great Basin National Park in Nevada where she served as an astronomy intern through the AmeriCorps program Scientists in Parks. Her passion for science communication and outdoor education brought her back to Great Basin for another year as an interpretive park ranger. Between these positions, Erin continued to explore her interests in STEM education as a physics teaching assistant for the Global Teaching Project and an after-school program educator for the New York State Museum.
Erin is thrilled to be returning to the East Coast in pursuit of a Secondary Physics teaching certification. She is deeply committed to interdisciplinary, justice-oriented teaching that engages with our local environments, and she hopes to show students that physics is for everyone!
