Joyce (she/her pronouns) is pursuing her MAT degree in Science at Brown University. She received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Washington, Seattle campus. Before her undergraduate studies, she grew up in Chinese, British, and Canadian education systems, through which she learned various strategies for studying efficiently and accurately.

Joyce’s passion for teaching started in Grade 9 when she began tutoring students of different grades in science and math. She decided to become a high school teacher during her gap year in undergrad. Joyce worked as an educator at a tutoring facility where the students' ages ranged from 3 to 18 years old. She enjoys interacting with students of all personalities and adjusts her teaching approach to optimize learning for each student. Joyce looks forward to becoming a high school science teacher who provides a safe and encouraging learning environment for students.
