Biography

Hometown: Inglewood, California    
Education: Tufts University, BA, Sociology, 2024

Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Tufts University and is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Urban Education Policy from Brown University.

While at Tufts, Michael dedicated his time to working at a non-profit community center,  where he organized daily programs and activities for the students.  He also volunteered at the East Somerville Teen Center where he tutored students in Math and English. Michael currently works as a Director at Viking Sports, where he leads sports classes for kids ages 3-10. In May of 2024, Michael was awarded the Bennett Memorial Scholarship which recognizes students who have shown true sportsmanship and successful academic achievement.

In the future, Michael plans to work directly with disadvantaged youth and marginalized communities in order to support their education through school reform and policy initiatives that prioritize both student and teacher well-being.
