Coco's interest in higher studies in Education stems from her own journey as a student who moved and had to adapt to a new education system in the United States. That experience has proved to her that so much of education expands beyond the walls of the classroom. Everything from a student’s social environment to economic circumstances to linguistic skills play a role in how they learn. Her experiences teaching or volunteering in a wide range of environments - from urban programs in Seattle to schools in China - have demonstrated to her how much more there is to explore. Each individual’s contexts - social, cultural, and economic - greatly impact how they will best learn.
