Education: Johnston & Wales University ‘23, Bachelor in Liberal Arts and Science, RWU TESOL ‘24   

Ryan McCray (she/hers) was born and raised in Providence, RI. She attended Providence Public Schools until grade 8. She graduated from Cranston High School East. She transferred from CCRI to Johnson & Wales University where she majored in Liberal Arts and Sciences and minored in Business Management. After working in the Title Industry, Ryan began working at Delsesto Middle School teaching ESL and Social Studies within the Providence Public School District. This is where she fell in love with teaching. She believes that teaching is the spark she was looking for her entire working career. Ryan continues to express her love for learning and her community by teaching in the community she grew up in. She is now in the MAT Social Studies Program looking forward to the year to come. 

Some personal interests of Ryan’s are rollerblading, hiking with her partner, and enjoying time with her family.

Ryan McCray MAT’25, who attended Brown Summer High School as a high school student, returned to teach Social Studies this summer as her first step in earning her Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree from Brown.
