Biography

Hometown: Langhorne, PA    
Education: University of Massachusetts Amherst, BS in Mathematics with a double major in Economics, class of 2021    

Thyra (she/her) grew up near Philadelphia Pennsylvania but moved to Massachusetts for her undergraduate studies. She graduated from UMass in 2021 with a degree in Mathematics and a double major in Economics. During undergraduate, she worked at an educational consulting group helping to evaluate nationally-funded education projects focusing on the success and retention of students from minority groups. After college, Thyra moved to Boston where she worked as an assistant in MIT's Department of Economics. Outside of work, she enjoys spending her free time rock climbing, attending to her many houseplants, and spending quality time with friends. Following the UEP program, Thyra aspires to promote positive change by addressing inequalities and improving educational opportunities and outcomes for all students.
