MAT Student Ambassadors

The Student Ambassador Program is designed to connect prospective students with current Brown Education graduate students.

Student Ambassadors are students who are currently enrolled and have been selected as program representatives for the academic year. These students can offer their perspectives and insight on the program and the University and serve as a resource for prospective students. If you're interested in talking with them, please fill out the form below.

2022-2023 Student Ambassadors

Daysha Patalot

portraitDaysha Patalot (she/her) is very excited to be a part of this year’s MAT Math cohort. She is a Bay Area native from Sunnyvale, California, and recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where she studied sociology and data science. Throughout her undergraduate career, she was heavily involved in mentorship, tutoring, and extracurricular organizations. These organizations include the Starting Point Mentorship Program, Cub Support, the Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program, Golden Bear Orientation, and the Sports Analytics Group at Berkeley. At Brown, she is excited to continue fulfilling her personal goal of becoming a life-long learner and, hopefully, inspiring her students to do the same.

Brittany Ruiz

Brittany Ruiz is an MAT student in the Social Studies cohort. Born and raised in Southern California, Brittany moved to the East Coast to complete her undergraduate education at Brown. She is passionate about creating an education system that uplifts and spotlights the voices of underrepresented communities.

Brittany is also a proud Mexican-American and bilingual Spanish speaker. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, watching every cooking and baking competition show in existence, and sharing laughs with friends and family. Whether you have questions relating to being a first generation student, adapting to New England weather, or life at Brown, don't hesitate to reach out!
